British musician Labrinth, whose real name is Timothy Lee McKenzie, has caused a stir with a short but passionate social media post seemingly directed at the entertainment industry.
The 37-year-old artist shared a cryptic message on his Instagram stories on Friday, March 13, which has since been deleted.
“I’m done with this industry,” he wrote. F*** Columbia. Double f*** Euphoria. I’m out. Thank you and good night,” he added.
Labrinth is currently signed to Columbia Records, which released his latest album “Cosmic Opera: Act I” earlier this year.
He is also widely known for composing the soundtrack for the HBO drama “Euphoria”, which premiered in 2019. His work on the show earned him critical praise and an Emmy Award.
According to “E! News”, Labrinth previously expressed his excitement that legendary composer Hans Zimmer would join him for the drama’s third and final season.
“Another chapter in the Euphoria universe!”
“So great to join Hans, one of my heroes in film score, and bring some new magic to this new season,” he said in a statement.
It is not yet clear what prompted Labrinth’s comments or whether his music will still feature in the upcoming season.
Fans of “Euphoria” will not have to wait much longer for the show’s return. Season three is set to premiere on HBO in April, more than four years after the season two finale aired. It will feature a time jump that places the characters years after their high school days.
The new season will bring back several familiar faces, including Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Colman Domingo.
Other returning cast members include Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fike and Nika King.
They will be joined by additional cast members, including Alanna Ubach, Daeg Faerch, Melvin Bonez Estes, Paula Marshall, Sophia Rose Wilson and Zak Steiner.
