Kim Vō, celebrity hairstylist and reality TV star, has died. He was 55.

Vō’s husband, Adeel Khan, shared the news on his Instagram page on Saturday, revealing that the Shear Genius alum died after an eight-year battle with colorectal cancer.

“My beloved husband, best friend, partner in life & business, Kim Vō, has taken his final breath,” Khan began his message. “Diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2018, he fought valiantly, winning many battles along the way and exceeding all medical expectations under the care of Dr. Lawrence Piro and his incredible team at Angeles Clinic and Cedars-Sinai. Ultimately, God decided it was time for our angel on earth to return home.”

Khan shared that in lieu of flowers and any other “tokens of condolence,” Vō requested that donations be made to the Kim Vō Foundation, which supports “hair, beauty and fashion creatives also affected by cancer.”

He continued his tribute to his late husband, whom he dubbed a “true icon in the hair & beauty industry.”

“Kim was first named by AmericanVogue as ‘the best blonder in the business’ for his skills & success in his salons, before becoming a celebrated TV personality and a trusted global ambassador for iconic beauty brands including L’Oréal and Schwarzkopf,” Khan wrote. “He was beloved not only by his family and friends, but by the global hair community and millions of viewers who came to know him for both his artistry and his warmth.”

Khan shared that Vō had “a rare ability to make everyone feel seen, welcomed, and at home.” He wrote, “His guiding philosophy of ‘approachable luxury’ was central to everything he did. Beauty and glamour without pretense, barriers, or exclusion.”

“One of Kim’s last wishes was to continue helping others,” Khan recalled. “Even after cancer entered our lives, he chose to focus on gratitude and purpose.”

Khan went on to share Vō’s final wish and statement, which reads: “I’ve been incredibly lucky. I’ve experienced love, happiness, and meaningful relationships on and off screen. I don’t need anything more, but I do want to use the platform, knowledge, and success I’ve worked so hard for to help others. Everything I’ve been blessed with also belongs to the communities that have made me who I am. I want my life to be celebrated with joy, positivity, and now, health-first vigilance. That is the meaning of life. That is the meaning of my life.”

Thus, Khan shared that through the Kim Vō Foundation, “it is our honor to battle alongside hair, beauty, and fashion creatives who are fighting cancer.”

He explained that the first initiatives of the foundation focus on advocacy and “helping to provide the level of care and treatment that Kim was fortunate to receive for our peers.”

“This is the legacy Kim and I are committed to building with your support,” Khan wrote. “We love you, we are here for you, and we will fight for you.”

Vō, who served as a judge on Bravo’s Shear Genius and starred on Paramount+’s Blowing LA, was a go-to colorist and hairstylist for various stars, including those who took to the comments of the post to share their tributes and condolences. “Sending so much love. He was such a kind and sweet person. ,” Nicky Hilton wrote.

“I’m so sorry he was such an amazing human. Filled with such light and love xo,” Tori Spelling commented.

Makeup artist Kandee Johnson wrote, in part, “This doesn’t feel real…this is so heartbreaking…Kim was the sweetest, funniest, most brilliant, talented, and precious soul He was so talented, so encouraging, so hilarious…he lit up every place he went, and made everyone feel amazing… His heart left an imprint on everyone who knew him — he was everyone’s cheerleader. He made everyone feel comfortable and made everyone laugh.”

“Oh what an amazing person he was kind and always smiling, heartbreaking sending love ,” Trisha Paytas wrote.
