Amid a years-long feud, Kim Kardashian admitted that she listens to Taylor Swift’s music and praised the singer for her talent and artistry.
During a conversation with her sister, Khloe Kardashian, on her podcast Khloe in Wonderland, Khloe asked whether she thought people would be surprised to learn that she listens to Swift’s music.
“I think I’ve said it,” Kim said. “Yeah, I mean, I have some of her older songs in my playlist. I always thought she was a super talented, great artist.”
Khloe said that she thinks people would be surprised that Kim listens to Swift’s music, and Kim seemed to agree.
The long‑running feud traces back to the increasingly fraught dynamic between Swift and Kardashian’s ex‑husband, Kanye West, a conflict that first erupted publicly in 2009 and later pulled Kardashian squarely into the center of one of pop culture’s most famous celebrity standoffs.
Kardashian once openly called herself a Swift fan, telling Entertainment Tonight in 2009 that she “loved” the singer and even followed her on Twitter. Their early public interactions appeared warm: the two posed together at the 2012 MTV EMAs and shared moments of friendliness at the 2015 Grammys and VMAs as Swift reconciled with West following the original 2009 incident.
But by 2016, tensions resurfaced when West released his album The Life of Pablo and its controversial track “Famous,” which included the lyric, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex…I made that b**** famous.” Kardashian insisted Swift had given permission to use the lyric, while Swift publicly denied approving the line.
Kardashian released an edited recording of a phone call between Swift and West, claiming it proved Swift knew about the lyric. The internet largely sided with Kardashian at the time, launching the viral hashtag #KimExposedTaylorParty, and Swift was inundated with snake emojis across social media. Swift later reclaimed the imagery in her 2017 album Reputation, transforming it into a symbol of empowerment.
The tensions resurfaced yet again in recent years. Fans believe Swift released a diss track called “thanK you aIMee” on her 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, since the title is stylized to spell out Kim in all caps. The song tells the story of a character who is described as an old high school bully who hasn’t changed over the years.
Fans also believe Swift may have nodded to Kardashian in her 2025 track “Actually Romantic” from The Life of a Showgirl. The speculation stems from lyrics referring to “funny valentines,” which fans connected to Kardashian’s 2018 stunt in which she sent Valentine’s Day gifts to both “lovers and haters,” explicitly including Swift on the list. This, many argued, fit Swift’s depiction of an adversary whose obsessive attention borders on “adorable.” Still, some fans debated whether the track was aimed at Kardashian or at another celebrity.
