Singer Kid Rock has been dealt a harsh hand so far this year as his music festival seems to be a bust financially—but eleven years ago he was boasting about his wealth

Kid Rock has not been having the best 2026 so far.

The country singer, known for being a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, is currently gearing up for his Rock the Country festival that’s set to take place in seven cities across the country starting in May and lasting until September. The festival has reportedly not been selling well, as it canceled a stop in Anderson, South Carolina, and big names like Morgan Wade and Ludacris pulled out after it received backlash for being dubbed a MAGA festival.

Kid Rock has also received a lot of mockery online after he shared a video on social media of himself working out with Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr., but it wasn’t always like this for the singer, as he previously boasted about being “loaded” in an interview from 2015.

In an interview with The Guardian from that year, Kid Rock declared, “I’m not just wealthy, I’m loaded. I can say that because I’m not embarrassed — I’ve made a f–k-ton of money, but I’ve never made a dishonest dollar. I try to do right by the people around me.”

At the time, Business Insider claimed that the singer was worth about $80 million and noted that his 1998 album, Devil Without a Cause, had sold more than 13 million copies throughout the world.

With the negativity surrounding the All Summer Long singer, many would assume his net worth has gone down in the past decade, but Kid Rock is currently estimated to be worth around $150 million—almost double what he was worth in 2015.

Though his cash flow hasn’t taken a hit, Kid Rock’s reputation may have. Earlier this month, Kid Rock headlined Turning Point USA’s All-American halftime show, which was created by MAGA supporters and conservatives to protest the official NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner, Bad Bunny.

Conservatives were not fans of the Puerto Rican headlining the show, slamming Bad Bunny for his disapproval of Trump and the president’s immigration policies. They also claimed that Bad Bunny wasn’t American, even though he was born in Puerto Rico, which made the 31-year-old a United States citizen, as Puerto Rico is an American territory.

When Kid Rock performed at the All-American show, many accused him of lip-syncing one of his hit songs, as it appeared in videos that the vocals were broadcast while the microphone wasn’t near the singer’s face. Kid Rock has denied any claims of lip-syncing, saying the show was prerecorded and blamed technical issues on the blunder.
