Lamar Odom has reportedly been arrested and booked for driving under the influence in Las Vegas.

The former basketball player, 46, was pulled over and arrested for a DUI on early Saturday (January 17) morning, according to TMZ, which first reported the news. The outlet added that Lamar was charged with two traffic violations—one for driving more than 41 miles per hour over the speed limit and the other for improper lane change and failure to maintain lane.

TMZ reports that as of 2:48 PM PST, the incident is still under investigation and that Lamar is still in police custody.

The Los Angeles Lakers alum was previously arrested for a DUI in California in 2013. Lamar ended up reaching a plea agreement in his case, resulting in him getting three years of probation and agreeing to attend a three-month alcohol education program. He was additionally ordered to pay $1,814 in fines and penalties.

Lamar reportedly checked himself into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center one week after his DUI arrest in California. PEOPLE reported that sources confirmed that he had admitted himself.

Lamar has been candid about his personal struggles with substance abuse. He recalled overdosing on cocaine, cognac, and cannabis in a Las Vegas brothel in 2015, in his 2019 memoir, Darkness to Light.

“My heart stopped twice,” he wrote about the overdose. “I had twelve seizures and six strokes. My lungs collapsed and my kidneys ruptured. I was on life support. Everyone I’d ever loved was looking at me through bleary eyes.”

Odom was ultimately transferred to a hospital in Los Angeles after his near-fatal overdose and stayed until January 2016. “[The overdose] made me realize I couldn’t live the way I’d been living,” Lamar told PEOPLE in 2019. “Life is too good.”

At the time, he also told the outlet he was drug-free.

Lamar was previously married to Khloé Kardashian. The former couple married in 2009, and Khloé filed for divorce initially in 2013. Following Lamar’s 2015 overdose and recovery, she called off divorce proceedings. The reality star filed for divorce again in 2016, and it was finalized.

Lamar mentioned in his memoir that Khloé supported him during his overdose.

He shares two children, Lamar Jr. and Destiny, with ex Liza Morales. The two had a son, Jayden, who died from Sudden Infant Death at 6 months old in 2006.

Lamar is set to appear in court in Nevada on March 17, per PEOPLE.
