The Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau romance has felt like a whirlwind. One second Perry was announcing her split from longtime fiancé Orlando Bloom, then she was seen with Trudeau, and just a few months later, they were confirming their relationship. Now, they’re even Instagram official. And though Perry and Bloom seem to still be getting along for the sake of their daughter, the singer has clearly moved on.

And the couple is apparently planning the next step of their relationship, aka going into business together or at least appearing on some sort of public-facing project together. RadarOnline.com reports that after a relationship that was mostly kept private, Perry is interested in this new stage in her life, being more open.

“The public is fascinated by them, so it’s a no-brainer for them to cash in on that interest – whether that’s by producing a documentary or launching a product together,” an insider said.

Reportedly, the relationship Perry has with Trudeau is very different from the one she had with Bloom. “Justin doesn’t stick his nose up at her ideas and call them tacky, the way Orlando would,” the insider revealed. “That’s thrilling for Katy – she has a partner who fully embraces and supports her at every step.”

And it reportedly helps that Trudeau, like Perry, “is a creative person.”

“Justin wants to dip his toe into the whole Hollywood thing, but he’s a total newbie and acknowledges Katy will have to drive the ship with any project they team up on.” And, well, Perry seems into that.

“Katy is feeling so empowered,” the source revealed. “Her whole world has opened up since she and Orlando finally pulled the plug on their nearly 10-year relationship. She’s ambitious again, and Justin is a big part of that. Together, they want to be a power couple.”

This comes after reports from Star that there’s concern in Perry’s circles that Trudeau likes the public side of the relationship too much. “People have been fascinated with Katy for years, and they’re always going to be curious about what she does next,” a source told the outlet. “Not so with Justin. He’s a nepo baby who flamed out in his political career and doesn’t have much of a path forward without his celebrity status.”

Trudeau resigned from his position in the government in January amid low approval ratings and pressure from his own party. There has been no public indication as to what he wants to do next. Outside of his relationship with Perry, the former PM has kept up with seemingly diplomatic meetings even if he’s not officially part of the government anymore. But a documentary doesn’t feel out of the realm of possibility.

“Dating Katy has made him more famous, in a positive way, and he doesn’t want this trend to stop,” the source added. “It’s absolutely key to his survival as a public figure,” the source says.
