Joanne McNally is reportedly being eyed to star in the next series of a major reality television show, featuring alongside many other big names.

The comedian has made waves across the entertainment industry in Ireland and the UK, having previously appeared on shows such as Taskmaster, The Big Fat Quiz of Everything, and The Jonathan Ross Show.

According to reports, the Dubliner’s next venture could be with The Celebrity Traitors, in a move that appears to suit her entertainment style well.

A source told The Sun: ‘Joanne has a popular podcast and a substantial social media following, which will appeal to the younger viewers who, at one time, wouldn’t be religiously watching a mainstream show on the BBC.

‘But people like Joanne are the bridge between old and new media. Plus, she’s hilarious, with a sense of humour based on the fact she’s a single woman navigating the dating world – something which also appeals to a younger market.’

Filming of the second series will begin in May, with Claudia Winkleman returning to host in the Scottish Highlands.

Other big names being considered for a spot on the cast include David Mitchell and Steve Pemberton.

Steve has reportedly been in talks with producers since publicly declaring his love for the show when it first launched in 2022.

An insider said: ‘Signing Steve would fill the slot for a celebrity who is obsessed with the mechanics behind the programme.

‘It was a role filled last year by Jonathan Ross, who was a long-time devotee and became one of the programme’s “big dogs”.

‘As an award-winning actor who can transform himself from one character to another, Steve would be a similar figure and a formidable contestant for the players to contend with.’

Amanda Holden is rumoured to be another desired contestant, after she helped encourage Alan Carr to join for the first series.

However, she would have to juggle filming with her duties on Britain’s Got Talent and her radio presenting.

According to the Sun, it is ‘not impossible for her to be given some time off, but it isn’t the only work she’d have to juggle’.

Danny Dyer, Alison Hammond and Ruth Jones are also all linked to the second series of the hit spin-off.
