Last One Laughing star Sam Campbell moved to the UK in 2022.
Last One Laughing UK is back on Prime Video on March 19 and it will see a whole new line-up of comedians attempt to make each other laugh.
Host Jimmy Carr teased Sam Campbell was the one to watch for season two of the hit reality series, explaining: “For me, the big discovery for people will be Sam Campbell.
“He’s been on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown a couple of times, he did Taskmaster, and we know him from the Edinburgh Fringe, but many viewers won’t know him.
“He’s a phenomenal talent. In show business I think it’s not about where you are, it’s about your trajectory, and he’s kind of come from nowhere and he’s suddenly going to be someone people are talking about.”
Here is all you need to know about the Australian comedian and actor.
Campbell was born in the early 90s although his exact date of birth is not known. He grew up in Queensland and admitted he was a small child in his younger years.
While speaking to The Guardian, he made a candid admission about how his parents considered placing him under growth hormone therapy.
The article reads: “His boyish, slightly vulnerable demeanour might be explained, he ventures, by the fact that ‘I was very small growing up’ – a feature he thinks contributed to his pursuing comedy.”
It continued by quoting the star as saying: “My parents were legitimately going to give me horse hormones to make me grow, because I was really small for a long time.”
He lived in Brisbane from the ages of 17 to 21 and then relocated to Sidney, before finally settling in the UK in 2022.
During his time in Australia, he made a short series that was broadcast on Comedy Central Australia and appeared a guest on ABC TV’s The Checkout.
He had a regular weekly segment on Triple J radio and featured in the web-series Dayne’s World.
After securing a global talent visa in 2022 he moved to the UK and performed at the famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe the same year, winning the festival’s main prize.
The following year, he took part in the hit Channel 4 gameshow Taskmaster, which he also went on to win.
Campbell has a few interesting credits in his filmography, as he played Cletus in the horror film Red Christmas in 2016.
The film follows Cletus – a mysterious, cloaked stranger who is out for revenge.
Earlier in 2026 the award-winning comedian landed a role in New Zealand Spy, a comedy spy TV series.
Last One Laughing season 2 is on Prime Video from March 19
