After stepping back into the limelight in 2025, Mikey Graham has hit the headlines again thanks to his dramatic weight loss.
The singer quietly stepped away from showbiz when Boyzone parted ways and largely flew under the radar until his appearance in the band’s documentary No Matter What, where it emerged he hadn’t spoken with his bandmates for five years.
Since then, fans have wondered about his life away from the group and here’s everything we know:
Career
After his time with Boyzoine wrapped up, Mikey turned his hand to solo musical projects, but never achieved the same level of success he had with the group.
He managed to rank 13th in the UK charts with his debut single You’re My Angel from the album Meet Me Halfway but failed to find further success.
In 2010, he joined the race to represent Ireland at the Eurovision but was pipped to the post by Niamh Kavanagh.

Next up, Mikey turned his hand to reality TV and a stint on Dancing on Ice in 2010, which he admits became a form of therapy for him as he came to terms with the death of Stephen Gately, who had previously appeared on the show.
‘This has really acted like a life raft… to get myself really focused on the skating helps me get my mind off it,’ he told the Irish Independent at the time.
Mikey followed up his time on the ice with an appearance on Celebrity Apprentice in 2013. He’s also credited with appearing in minor roles in several cult films over the years and works as a record producer.
Personal life

Mikey appears to have devoted much of his time to his family life since his Boyzone days.
He met dancer Karen Corrad when she joined one of Boyzone’s tours in 1998, and romance blossomed. The couple kept their romance out of the spotlight and made things official when they tied the knot in Dublin’s Pro Cathedral in 2004, with Gary Barlow and Gareth Gates in attendance.
Mikey has a daughter, Hannah, from his previous relationship with Sharon Keane, while he and Karen welcomed their daughter, Sienna Nicole, in 2006.
The couple remained together for two decades before Mikey announced that they had divorced in 2024, sharing that it had left him ‘badly wounded’. He hasn’t given up on finding love, however.

The Mirror quotes him as having said: ‘In response to some of the DMs I have received, I divorced last April.’ He went on to say: ‘Thank you, I’m very badly wounded at this point, but I won’t give up on love.’
Mikey was utterly thrilled to become a granddad in 2022 when Hannah welcomed a daughter. He said at the time: ‘Thankfully, life has been nothing but wonderful to me the last three weeks since the birth of my absolutely stunningly beautiful granddaughter Bonnie.
‘My eldest daughter Hannah brought her into the world on 2 February, and all is well.’
Personal struggles and tragedies
In No Matter What, it emerged that Mikey struggled with depression when he was dropped as the lead singer of Boyzone and turned to alcohol to cope. He was also hoping to contribute more musically, but faced pushback from the record company.
‘In the loss of ambition, high-spiritedness, vitality… when that left me, a lot of things left me. My interest in my own appearance.

‘I didn’t drink until I turned about 24 when I was introduced to Jack Daniels and Coca-Cola, and that became the thing that kind of got me through the next few years… the sadness, the disenchantment. I was very frustrated, angry, depressed, and because of all of that, I would withdraw from the band,’ he explained.
He didn’t leave the group because of his family commitments. In 2011, he was the victim of a home confrontation, which left student Paul O’Hara hospitalised. O’Hara claimed the singer hit him with a cricket bat after he came to his home and reportedly pressed his doorbell repeatedly. He was cleared of any criminal offence but told the Irish Daily Mail the experience left him ‘traumatised’.
There was further heartache for Mikey in 2017 when he lost his beloved mum Sheila from a brain bleed that was inoperable.
‘I knew this was it as I drove to the hospital,’ he told The Sun, adding, ‘That it was the end. It was such a strong feeling.’
Makeover

In February 2026, Mikey stunned fans by revealing he’d lost three stone by using weight-loss drugs to prepare for Boyzone’s reunion tour in June.
‘It’s been a very difficult last few years, but that’s life, and we all have our problems, but I’m climbing back up the ladder of life.
‘As you know, I put on a lot of weight, but I’ve lost 3 stone with the help of Mounjaro. To look my best for you on stage. I got caught out in that comfort eating situation. But that’s how things go. I’m only human after all,’ he told fans.
