Life outside the “Big Brother” house has officially begun for King Wanda, who recently returned to his day job after his eviction from “Big Brother Mzansi”.
The reality TV star, who spent eight weeks inside the “Bazozwa” house, was welcomed back to the office with a surprise celebration organised by his colleagues.
Videos shared on his social media show the workplace buzzing with excitement as they gathered to happily greet him and welcome him back on his first day at the office.
After weeks away competing on national television for the grand prize of R2 million, the moment marked a return to normal life for Wanda, who still holds down a regular 9-to-5 job outside of the show.
Clearly touched by the warm reception, he shared a glimpse of the moment and expressed gratitude for the support from his coworkers.
“First day back at work, so much love. I’m truly blessed,” he wrote.
His job was not the only part of his life he returned to. Wanda also shared a video of himself and his daughter, Culolami, whom he would often talk about while he was still inside the “Bazozwa” house.
“When the lights go off, the cameras turn off and when all is said and done…I will always have iCulolami…Happy 3 months to my favourite song, Culolami,” he wrote.
Wanda’s time on the reality show saw him become one of the more memorable personalities of the season.
Viewers often enjoyed his humorous moments in the house, the singing, as well as the dreams he would have, predicting how the game might unfold.
Although he did not make it all the way to the finale, reaching week eight secured him a place in the Top 10 of the competition. For many housemates, that milestone alone is considered a major achievement.
Speaking about his journey after leaving the house, Wanda admitted that he did not expect to last as long as he did in the competition.
According to him, his initial goal was simply to survive the first few weeks in the house. Making it to the Top 10 ended up being far beyond what he had imagined when he first walked through the doors.
His eviction came during Sunday’s live show, where he exited the game alongside fellow housemate The Don. The two had formed a close friendship during their time in the house.
Despite the end of his reality TV run, Wanda appears to be in high spirits as he settles back into everyday life.
Beyond returning to work, the aspiring musician has also hinted at plans to explore opportunities in music following his time on the show. Like many former contestants, he hopes to build on the visibility that comes with appearing on one of South Africa’s biggest reality TV platforms.
