I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! might be over for Nath Valvo but for many viewers, the jungle drama still feels very, very real.

In one of the wildest episodes of the season, not one, not two, but three stars were sent packing from the jungle, including the comedian.

First to go was Cyrell Paule, whose tumultuous journey saw her clash with almost every other campmate.

Then came a major twist when Nath himself was given the boot in a shock double elimination along with Rebekah.

But despite the fact it’s very clearly pre-recorded this year, some fans are still convinced the show is unfolding live and according to Nath, they’re very shocked to see him out and about.

Why did an I’m A Celeb viewer scream at Nath?

Nath told WHO he’s constantly being stopped on the street after his time on I’m A Celeb.

“I’ve never been stopped more in my whole career,” Nath told WHO. “People still think it’s live! A woman screamed at me in a café last week, ‘How are you here?’

“She was convinced everything was fake. I had to explain we filmed it earlier!”

For Nath, the sudden spike in attention has been surreal.

“It’s wild opening your phone and seeing news alerts about yourself,” he said. “But it introduces you to a whole new audience, which is amazing.”

While viewers saw the on-screen arguments and emotional moments, Nath reveals there’s a whole other world of jungle gossip happening behind the scenes – and it’s still going strong.

“It’s not just Mia I’m in contact with!” he said. “There are so many group chats – me and Mia, me and Matt, me and Concetta, me and Luke, me and George. Then there are about five WhatsApp variations.”

And what are they all talking about? “The biggest gossip is usually about what didn’t make it to air,” Nath says. “They can’t show everything.”

According to Nath, entire dynamics and deeper friendships were left on the cutting room floor.

“You didn’t see how close I was with Mia, or Luke, or how George, Chet and I became a trio. But sometimes two people just getting along doesn’t make great TV.”

Who does Nath want to win I’m A Celeb?

When it comes to the finalists, Nath is passionate about one campmate in particular.

“Concetta, please,” he said enthusiastically when asked who he’s backing.

“From being in there with her every day, Concetta’s energy and joy are real strength. She’s whip smart. Don’t mistake her fun and silliness for weakness – it comes from strength.”

He adds that she made his jungle experience unforgettable.

“She made my time in there the best. We’ve become incredibly close. And honestly? It’s time for a woman to win.”

The Grand Finale of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here airs Sunday, February 22 at 7pm on Network 10 and streams free on 10 play.
