Universal Music Group’s 2026 Grammys afterparty brought together all the best parts of a night out in Hollywood to provide a night-club-like experience post-awards ceremony
Universal Music Group’s 2026 Grammys After-party was nothing short of a typical nightclub experience in the City of Angels.
Go to any club in Hollywood on a good night, and you most likely will be blessed to have: a DJ who actually knows which songs to play to get the crowd in the mood to groove, bartenders who can actually mix drinks, and potentially run into some people of notoriety. The almost 100-year-old music company essentially transformed a couple of Nya studios WEST’s indoor venue spaces, their main room and lounge room, into an exclusive hotspot mainly for their UMG roster, label executives, Grammy nominees, and other well-known names.
Luckily with my standing in media, as an entertainment reporter for this publication, I got to be included on the guest list, allowing me to see with my own eyes how a Grammys after-party goes down.

To be expected, the entire party was crawling with security, but because it was so dimly lit, they appeared almost invisible due to their black clothing blending in with the dark backdrop of the night. Their presence was comparable to laidback chaperones at a high school dance—they weren’t there to stop anyone’s fun, but they wanted to ensure everyone’s safety.
Immediately upon entering the function, you’re hit with a blast of music that can be heard meters away from going in, which is standard for any party, one worthwhile anyway. The DJ who was charged with running the playlist knew exactly what to play to get at least some of the attendees to let their hair down and get down on the dance floor.
Grammy nominee Amy Taylor, who’s the lead singer of Amyl and the Sniffers, the rock band nominated at the 2026 Grammys for Best Rock Performance, enjoyed the party with her team. We had already interacted on the red carpet, where I interviewed her for The Mirror U.S., sparking up a nice rapport during a brief interaction. I was extremely flattered when she personally came up to me for a swift chat.
Records that boomed through the speakers and had me dancing in my seat included Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Fat Man Scoop’s Be Faithful, Depeche Mode’s Just Can’t Get Enough, plus a slew of new hits for the younger crowd who were in the room.
Drinks flowed throughout the night as polite servers repeatedly came around with mini individualized bottles of Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky sours for the taking. For those who wanted a bigger drink, there were three different open bars located in two different areas of the main room, and one in the venue’s lounge area. Personally, I’m not a drinker, but the UMG Grammys afterparty was already prepared for non-alcoholic drinkers since there was a mocktails menu present.
Oh, and the food! I’d be remiss if I didn’t touch on that, being that I’m a foodie, and too many times I’ve been to industry events where food lacks on the tastiness scale. Food was finger-licking bites that were consistently coming around by smiling servers who were ready to offer you either a mini mac-n-cheese grilled cheese, zucchini fries, mini-MBLTs (Mushroom, Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomatoes sandwiches), Avocado fries, just to name a few of the dishes.
In case you missed the many servers dipping through the party, there was a self-serve buffet section that was entirely vegan, with some of the choices including charred green beans, plant-based smash burger, regular potato french fried, a meatless chicken katdu sando, and bowls of sauces for each of the offerings.
In totality, the UMG Grammy Awards afterparty for this year was a solid 10/10.
