Corey Feldman opened up about being excluded from the Rob Reiner tribute at the 2026 Oscars on March 15. Corey previously worked with Rob in his 1986 film Stand By Me

Corey Feldman has revealed his true feelings about being left out of the Rob Reiner tribute at the 2026 Oscars.

The 54-year-old actor spoke with Entertainment Weekly about not being included in the special In Memoriam tribute to the 78-year-old beloved director and to his wife, Michele Singer-Reiner, at the 98th Academy Awards. During the ceremony, Billy Crystal delivered an emotional speech and was joined on stage by 16 other stars from Reiner’s films. The stars included Corey Feldman’s Stand By Me costars Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton.

“Personally, it felt a little bit like a family reunion I wasn’t invited to, but we’re not going to use this time to go into my feeling about that,” Corey told the outlet. “Instead I just want to say that I’m with the rest of us, we’re all very destroyed that things went down the way they did, losing Rob when we all thought he’d be joining us at some point for this tour and it’s a tragedy.”

He did share a bit more about his feelings about being omitted by the tribute and pointed out what bothered him more about it.

“I think Jerry and Wil did what had to be done. It was a fleeting moment, so I don’t feel like I missed much at all. I personally was probably maybe a little bothered by the fact that nobody got to speak or do or say anything from their own heart,” Corey said.

“Although they did a wonderful job, I would’ve liked to have heard from Wil and Jerry and a few other people up there,” The Goonies star added.

Corey noted that “it is what it is,” but said that he liked that the Academy decided to “honor the great memory of Rob.”

The former child star had confirmed on March 6 that he was not invited to the Rob tribute following a report from Daily Mail claiming he was “devastated” in being excluded.

Corey took to X to say, “I just want to briefly mention this Oscars thing! Yes, it’s true that I was not invited I understand many believe it’s due to being outspoken about the abuse I suffered as a child and the campaign to silence me. However, this isn’t about me. It’s not my moment at all. It’s about the tragic loss of our friend Rob Reiner and his memory.

“As much I appreciate all support, it’s very sweet of you… but please stop. Please take down any petitions to push for my presence at the awards,” the musician continued. “They don’t need me there. Will [sic] and Jerry got this I’m sure. They will do a fantastic job! We need to keep the pressure up #EpsteinFiles #Kid2 These things matter! I’ll honor Rob my own way.”

Rob and and Michele, 70, were brutally stabbed to death at their Brentwood home on December 14, 2025. The married couple’s son, Nick, was arrested and charged in their deaths, specifically two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders. He is also facing a charge for a special allegation of using a dangerous and deadly weapon, a knife.

The 32-year-old pleaded not guilty in an arraignment hearing on February 23 and he is set to return to court on April 29.
