This comes after Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco drew flak for being featured prominently in several tourism promotional materials.
The common sentiment was that the focus of these printed and digital materials should be the country’s tourist attractions and destinations instead of the secretary’s likeness.
She has since ordered the DOT to remove materials feature her photos.
In the wake of the issue, netizens continued the discussion by sharing which personalities they think deserve to be named tourism ambassadors for the Philippines.
Manny Pacquiao, Alex Eala, Sandara Park, Bretman Rock, Lea Salonga, Katseye’s Sophia were among the names tossed around online as worthy ambassadors for Philippine tourism.
