After a grueling three-year battle, Brandi Glanville has finally determined the cause of her facial parasite.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum initially believed that the bug, which eluded detection and caused countless medical issues, wormed its way into her system while filming Bravo’s The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip in Morocco in early 2023.

Now, after a life-saving sonogram, Glanville has revealed that a ruptured pair of breast implants is the true culprit behind her condition.

“The woman [who] did the sonogram was like, ‘Brandi, you need to get those out yesterday,'” the reality star told InTouch on Feb. 11, via the Daily Enquirer. “She’s like, ‘You have a slow leak in your left [implant] and your right [implant] is completely ruptured, and it’s in all of your lymph nodes under both arms.”

The parasite still plays a role, but the technician who performed Glanville’s sonogram told her that “whatever’s going on in your face, it can’t drain because your lymph nodes are clogged with silicone.'”

Glanville told TMZ outside her doctor’s Beverly Hills office on Wednesday that she saw “21 doctors” over the course of her harrowing medical ordeal.

“I was shocked, because they’re implants that I’ve had for almost 20 years. They looked fine. They felt fine. The mammogram said they were fine. It wasn’t until I had a sonogram…” she explained, adding that she’s now learned that “breast implants should be changed every 10 years.”

“I’m just scared to death,” she told InTouch. “It’s something that I could die from if I hadn’t figured it out.” But Glanville already underwent the emergency procedure to have the ruptured implants removed from her body. “Our second plan would be to put another implant in — which I was like, ‘Nope!’… I’m like, I don’t want silicone in my body at all.”

Glanville looked back on three years of pain and confusion with as much humor as she can muster, laughing as she told TMZ, “It just sucks to age, like, 20 years overnight.”

Glanville frequently shared worrying updates about her health condition since she first became ill upon returning from Morocco. Last February, Glanville concerned fans by posting a video of herself vigorously shaking on an “emphatic drainage machine” in hopes of treating the still-unknown parasite.

“I will shake for the rest of my life if this thing gets out of my body,” she said.

Just last month, Glanville debuted a new look after she’d got on the other side of the condition, praising her plastic surgeon for helping her to “smooth texture, lift lax skin, add volume, and reduce fat all with zero downtime.”
