Whether follow Bachelor Nation or are consistently trying to up your finance game, you probably have heard of Jason Tartick. The business guru (who once appeared on season 14 of The Bachelorette) now hosts a podcast called “Trading Secrets,” which is aimed to help listeners navigate all-things finance.

I recently had the chance to talk to Jason, and since the core of my job as an e-commerce editor to Good Housekeeping readers make smart, worthwhile spending choices, I was especially curious about what the entrepreneur and podcast host chooses to spend his money on. It turns out that Jason focuses on comfort and wellness when he isn’t in front of the mic—mainly in the form of cozy furniture, luxe fragrances, and more.

Recently, Jason teamed up with Lovesac—a furniture company beloved and recommended by the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab—in effort to emphasize the importance of investing in high-quality furniture. Jason raves about the high-quality, customizable “Sactional” (a.k.a. Lovesac’s modular sectional).

He says, “I can pivot my setup anytime without starting over or losing value. I use mine across multiple rooms from the podcast studio to the family room to hosting guests. As I furnish my new home, that kind of flexibility is everything.”

Jason and his girlfriend, Kathryn Hurley, are “obsessed” with this plush chair from Lovesac—and he thinks their rescue pups, Moose and Teddy, are also going to be fans of the seat. Jason says it’s “insanely cozy, oversized in all the right ways, and built for those nights when you finally get to just kick it and take a moment for yourself.”

He goes on, “It’s not only incredibly comfortable, but beautifully customizable to make it the perfect statement piece for any room.” What’s unique about this particular chair is that the pillow itself can be used with or without the frame—so it’s versatile.

When it comes to affordable fragrance, Jason’s a fan of this $45 body mist from Salt & Stone that “stops people in their tracks.” He says it’s “a great example of getting a luxury experience without paying luxury prices.”

“I’m pretty selective with skincare because it’s one of those categories where the price can escalate quickly,” Jason tells us. But for the Soy Face Cleanser by Fresh, the price is well worth it. He calls the formula “thoughtful and effective,” emphasizing that it’s “one of those products I come back to again and again because it just works.” He goes on, “That’s the type of spending I’m always talking about. Buy something that performs, and you’ll get your money’s worth.”

What’s more, the Good Housekeeping Institute Beauty Lab recommends this face wash and named this cleanser the best choice for sensitive skin.

As someone who loves a Ranger Station candle (I have one at home and burn it all the time), I understand why Jason recommends the brand. Not only does he like the aesthetic, saying each candle is “designed with a clean, minimalist look that fits naturally into any space,” but he also loves the scent. Jason tells us, “The Bark Ranger candle has that rare balance: warm, clean, and refined without being overpowering. It’s the kind of scent people notice when they walk in and immediately ask what it is.”

He leaves us with one important note: “P.S. The candle is designed to be a whiskey glass once it’s done and comes with a beautiful pack of matches.”

Jason calls the Skylight Calendar (which is a virtual calendar that displays the family’s schedule in one place) “the tool you didn’t know you needed” and “the command center for your entire household.” He goes on, “If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I talk a lot about the quality of consumption, being intentional about where your time, attention, and money go. This is one of those rare products that checks every single box.”

The Skylight Calendar Max—a slightly larger version suitable for bigger families—was given a 2025 Good Housekeeping Parenting Award, and our tech analysts were extra impressed by its modern look and anti-glare screen.

Jason says he’s “someone who can’t sit still for long”—even when relaxing. “I’m either reading, working, answering emails, or occasionally enjoying a drink or coffee…” That’s why he’s a fan of this wooden bathtub tray. Jason says that not only does it provide a space to get some work done while lounging in an epsom salt bath, but it also gives the the room a “spa-like look.”

“The underwear conversation is one I have with guys constantly. You cannot build a great outfit on a bad foundation,” Jason tells us. He’s a fan of the brand Tommy John—who Jason has partnered with in the past—for their boxer briefs which he says have “an exceptionally soft, close fit.” He goes on, “Yes, it’s $30+ a piece. But compare that to replacing a $10 pair every few months, and the math starts to look different fast.”

When it comes to technology, Jason highly recommends the Dell XPS. He says the screen “incredibly crisp and vibrant” and that it’s “durable, lightweight, and powerful enough to keep up with a busy schedule—whether you’re running a business, creating content, or just trying to stay productive throughout the day.” He continues, “Yes, it sits in the premium price tier. But the XPS is one of those purchases where the quality justifies every dollar.”
