The University of Wisconsin Police Department disclosed the occurrence of four burglaries at the UW Law Building in the last three months and said an investigation is underway, according to a crime warning sent to students Wednesday via email.

The most recent burglary took place Sunday, and all burglaries occurred after closing hours — involving thefts from both locked and unlocked doors, according to the warning.

Police believe at least some of the crimes were committed by the same suspect or suspects.

There may be additional victims who have not yet reported other crimes, according to the warning.

UWPD encourages individuals to call the department at (608) 264-2677 or send a tip through the BadgerSAFE app if they have any information on the incidents or believe they are a victim.

Students received the crime notification due to UW’s compliance with the federal Clery Act, which is committed to providing campus-area crime information.
