Law and order is under control, and hence development can be widely seen, as can people’s sense of security.”The CP said that although crimes against women and cases relating to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, the NDPS Act and the Gaming Act have increased, cases relating to murder, rape, cybercrime, the SC&ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, property offences and road accidents have decreased.“The dip in crime has mainly happened because of regular enforcement and visible policing, which has been intensified in recent months. By identifying problematic areas, we are carrying out regular vehicle checks and patrols as part of Operation Kavach. In the coming days, the use of drones will be increased. Wherever it has been used recently, including at the Jubilee Hills election, it has been found to be a useful resource,” the CP said.He said that proposals are being made to launch a dedicated anti-adulteration team, headed by an officer of the rank of deputy commissioner of police, to mainly curb food adulteration.Regarding cybercrime offences, Sajjanar urged people to use authorised govt-run trading platforms for stock trading and to avoid falling victim to fraudsters who create fake platforms.Regarding recent criminal incidents in the South Zone, the deputy commissioner of police (South Zone), Kiran Khare, said that efforts are being made to transform Old City into a Model City by using information about criminals and controlling crime, especially with the extension of metro services into Old City.A few days ago, the Cyberabad police revealed that an accused in the Srushti IVF scam had indulged in repeating the offence after being released on bail in a case handled by the CCS.
