Case Explained: Gouverneur motorist arrested following vehicle pursuit | Crime & Law – Legal Perspective

Troopers state that during the pursuit, Guinup lost control of the vehicle due to unsafe speed and exited the roadway off the north shoulder, striking a mailbox, barbed wire, and a tree. He then fled the vehicle on foot, resulting in a brief foot pursuit but was later taken into custody.

Guinup was taken to Gouverneur Hospital for evaluation by Gouverneur Rescue and was treated and released.

An investigation determined that Guinup had an active bench warrant. He was arraigned in Gouverneur Town Court for the pursuit incident and subsequently arraigned in Fowler Town Court for the active bench warrant.

Guinup was released on his own recognizance from both courts.
