The City of Austin is taking legal steps to get a bar on Sixth Street to take action in preventing criminal activity.

The motion, obtained by CBS Austin, alleges that the bar Pour Choices at 401 E. Sixth St. has “failed to make reasonable efforts to abate criminal activity.”

The City alleges that APD has responded to “a multitude of serious crimes” at the bar, including assaults and physical altercations, obstruction of police investigations, serving alcohol to minors, drug possession and distribution, weapons violations, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.

The motion also claims that the owners of the bar “have not made reasonable efforts to abate this habitual criminal activity.”

The City requests that the courts grant an injunction ordering the defendants to abate the nuisance, and that Pour Choices face discontinued utilities or a termination of its lease if the bar fails to follow the order.
