In a response to concerns over disruptive teen gatherings, law enforcement swooped in on Jacksonville Beach during a “Senior Skip Day,” resulting in 13 arrests and the recovery of multiple firearms.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said that on Friday, March 27, an operation took place at Jacksonville Beach in response to the “Senior Skip Day.”

The Sheriff’s Office said that they worked in partnership with the Jacksonville Beach Police to ensure the safety of the community.

It was reported that during the operation, police focused on monitoring and responding to suspicious activities with the goal of maintaining safety at the beach.

  • 13 total arrests
  • 9 firearms recovered
  • Over 100 grams of marijuana were seized
  • 6 traffic citations issued

The Sheriff’s Office reported that among those arrested, eight individuals faced felony charges, including Daquan Williams (18), Derrick Smith (16), Cameron Gaiter (19), Jeremiah Forshee (18), Josiah Brown (18), Darrian Simms (17), James Stewart (19), and Jasmond Perry (17). Additionally, Jamir Barnes (20) and four juveniles were arrested on misdemeanor charges.
