The General Secretariat of the Steering Committee of the Public Financial Management Reform (GSC) organised a training session on Wednesday to strengthen the assessment of public financial management systems across line ministries.

The training workshop themed ‘Public Financial Management Assessment Framework for Line Ministries’ was chaired by Yeth Vinel, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), and also the Deputy Secretary-General of GSC, in Phnom Penh on March 11.

Um Youthy, Director of Administration, Finance, and Monitoring and Evaluation of GSC, was among 120 participants representing line ministries implementing the Public Financial Management Reform Program (PFMRP).

According to a GSC announcement, the training was organised to equip six additional ministries with the tools to assess the Public Financial Management (PFM) system.

The results will help line ministries prepare reform action plans for transparent and efficient implementation of performance-informed budgeting, while other ministries will undergo the assessment in the coming years, the statement added.
