RIYADH: Abu Dhabi government entities have partnered with logistics firm 7X to launch ADEED, an artificial intelligence-powered platform aimed at strengthening supply chain and business continuity in the UAE as the regional economic landscape evolves.

The firm 7X will provide coordinated logistics solutions through ADEED, supporting businesses across air, road, and sea transport, domestically and internationally, in addition to fulfilment-related services, Abu Dhabi Media Office said in a press statement.

The initiative comes as Gulf economies accelerate efforts to safeguard trade and logistics networks amid mounting disruption from the Iran war, which has strained key shipping lanes, including the Strait of Hormuz, and heightened risks to regional supply chains.

Saudi Arabia has launched a new international rail logistics corridor linking its Eastern Province ports with the Al-Haditha border crossing. The route connects King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, Al-Jubail Commercial Port and King Fahd Industrial Port in Jubail to Jordan and neighboring northern countries.

The Saudi Ports Authority added five new shipping services with major global carriers to help combat disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, with a combined capacity of 63,594 twenty-foot equivalent units.

“ADEED reflects exactly the kind of public-private collaboration that builds long-term supply chain resilience, where public sector leadership and operational capability come together to support business continuity in a practical and timely way,” said Tariq Al Wahedi, group CEO at 7X.

He added that 7X is committed to enabling responsive, coordinated solutions that will keep the supply chain moving, ultimately, reinforcing Abu Dhabi and the UAE’s position as a globally connected trade hub.

According to the press statement, each government entity participating in the platform will contribute its specialized expertise to ADEED.

ADDED supports the emirate’s broader economic framework, while Abu Dhabi Customs facilitates the efficient movement of goods across ports and manages import and export processes.

ADQCC will ensure reliable alternative sourcing by setting standards, assessing conformity, and connecting businesses with qualified suppliers.

The ADEED platform will leverage AI to offer actionable insights, helping businesses and governments navigate supply chain and trade operations efficiently.

It also structures requests, identifies gaps, and connects users with logistics expertise, enabling informed decisions and operational continuity.

“By spearheading the ADEED platform, ADIO teams are providing businesses with guidance based on real-time market insights to help maintain supply chain continuity to advance Abu Dhabi’s economic growth ambitions. These initiatives underscore why Abu Dhabi remains a globally recognized destination for trade, manufacturing, and investment,” said Mohamed Ali Al Kamali, chief of industry and trade at ADIO.

The ADEED strategic partners include the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as Abu Dhabi Customs and Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council.
