Luka Doncic’s injury could sideline him for weeks, according to Shams Charania, as he awaits MRI results following the hamstring issue suffered against OKC.

Although there’s still no official word on the severity of Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic’s injury, reports suggest it could sideline him for weeks.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Doncic traveled with the Lakers to Dallas, but the injury may be measured “in weeks.”

“Luka Doncic traveled with the Lakers to Dallas…I’m not gonna report on the results before I have them. Depending on the severity, this can potentially be measured in weeks,” Charania said on ESPN’s NBA Today show. “The whole league is waiting on this, specifically in the Western Conference.”

The injury occurred in the third quarter of Thursday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, when Doncic pulled up during an offensive possession and limped off the court.

The non-contact play left him visibly frustrated and in pain. Notably, it’s the same left hamstring that had already sidelined him for multiple games earlier this season.

According to sports doctor Evan Jeffries, the recovery timeline depends on the severity of the strain. A Grade I strain typically requires 1–2 weeks of recovery, while a Grade II strain could keep him out for 3–6 weeks.

Doncic has been in outstanding form, averaging 36.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.1 assists in March, helping the Lakers climb to third place in the Western Conference with a 50-27 record.
