Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan visited the Minister at the hospital and condemned the incident. “What occurred there was not a protest demonstration of any kind- it was the rampage of a group of violent elements,” he said in a Facebook post.

Speaker A N Shamseer described the episode as unfortunate. The CPM strongly condemned the incident. The Congress, however, said available visuals do not show KSU workers directly attacking the Minister.
