BMW India has launched the M2 CS in India at Rs. 1.66 crore, ex-showroom. Brought in as a completely built-up unit, the performance coupe will be available in limited numbers.
Powering the M2 CS is an upgraded 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 530bhp and 650Nm. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels. The car can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 302kmph.
The M2 CS is around 30kg lighter and 50bhp more powerful than the standard M2, thanks to the use of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) elements such as the roof, boot lid, and the mirror caps. It also features a lowered suspension setup and bespoke chassis tuning for improved track performance.
On the outside, it gets CS-specific styling elements including a ducktail spoiler, larger air intakes, and 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin features M Carbon bucket seats, Alcantara upholstery, and Merino leather, along with BMW’s latest infotainment system.
The M2 CS also holds the distinction of being the fastest compact car around the Nürburgring Nordschleife, completing the lap in 7:25.5 minutes.
