The ambitious capital city project in Amaravati, valued at approximately Rs 51,000 crore, is facing hurdles as officials informed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during a review meeting. Addressing delays, Naidu emphasized the importance of accelerating project execution to ensure a timely inauguration by the Prime Minister.
Currently, projects worth Rs 57,821 crore are at various completion stages, with Rs 50,943 crore already grounded. Challenges, including manpower shortages due to elections, were highlighted. Naidu urged utilizing local skilled manpower and set weekly and monthly targets to ensure prompt completion without compromising on quality or budget.
Naidu expressed dissatisfaction with contractor performance, citing negligence in safeguarding materials and fire accidents. Stressing immediate incident alerts and competent management, he warned against lapses as politically sensitive, underscoring the necessity of uninterrupted resource supply and coordination with district collectors.
