The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for Jharkhand, forecasting thunderstorms, rain, and gusty winds in 14 districts from April 4. In its recent bulletin, the IMD highlighted that hailstorms might occur in specific regions on April 4 and 5.
The alert specifies potential storms in the northwest and central areas of Jharkhand, with wind speeds reaching up to 50 km/h. Districts such as Garhwa, Palamu, and Ranchi are on high alert. The department warns these conditions pose a risk to standing crops.
Conversely, the state’s northeast and southeast parts will experience hot and humid conditions from April 2 to April 4. Chaibasa and Jamshedpur have reported temperatures soaring above 38 degrees Celsius, as per the latest data.
