Deidre Hall

Deidre Hall celebrates starring in her 5,000th episode of “Days of Our Lives.” This segment aired on the KTLA 5 Morning News on May 12, 2023.

Hall has played the character for close to five decades. While Marlena is no longer possessed by the devil, life for the fictional character isn’t an easy one.

In the meantime, the actress caught wind of Gosling’s comments and posted her appreciation on Instagram. She said she played the episode “in the dressing room” and “in the makeup room” and everyone is “thrilled to be acknowledged and to be well-spoken of.”

“We work really hard, as you acknowledged,” Hall said. “We think it would be nice if you wanted to come over and see what we do in our neck of the woods. This is an open invitation to visit the ‘Days of Our Lives’ set.”

She promised, “Nobody will be possessed.” But if they are, she promised to keep “an eye” on the “Barbie” actor.

Well, Gosling jumped at the invitation.

“Deidre Hall! Are you kidding me? Yes! This is a very enthusiastic yes to a very cordial invitation to visit you on set. I will be there to thank you in person for being my OG acting inspiration,” he said in a video on Instagram. “It wasn’t Marlon Brando in ‘On the Waterfront’, it wasn’t (Robert) DeNiro in ‘Taxi Driver,’ it was you. And, I want to thank you for your offer anytime, anywhere. You tell me, I’ll be there.”

As for the risk of possession, he isn’t worried.

“I’m not worried about the possession. I’ll say a Hail Mary before I get there. I’ll be fine, and I’ll see you on set,” he said in a nod to his new movie.
