The counters are polished, and the stakes are high as Nine rolls out a prime-time celebrity edition of Tipping Point, with three high-profile media personalities set to take on the machine for charity.

Airing Wednesday, 1 April at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now, the special leans into familiar faces from radio and comedy, blending entertainment with a cause-driven hook as the network continues to extend the format’s reach.

Hosted by tennis legend Todd Woodbridge, the one-off special will see Kate Langbroek, Joel Creasey and Nick Cody compete for a $40,000 prize pool, each backing their own charity.

Langbroek, a mainstay across both radio and television, enters the game with her trademark irreverence, playing for My Room Children’s Charity.

She is joined by Nova’s Creasey, whose quick-fire delivery and broad appeal to audiences position him as a natural fit for the format. Creasey will be competing on behalf of Breakthrough T1D.

Rounding out the trio is Fox FM Breakfast co-host Cody, bringing his straight-shooting comedic style to the game in support of Foodbank.

Extending the format beyond daytime

The special marks another step in Nine’s broader strategy to stretch Tipping Point beyond its daytime roots, using recognisable talent to drive incremental reach in primetime.

By tapping into radio and comedy talent with built-in audiences, the network is effectively cross-pollinating fan bases, while adding a charitable layer that softens the competitive edge and broadens appeal.

Whether that translates into upside in ratings will be the real test.
