(NewsNation) — Pop star Britney Spears has broken her silence on social media after her DUI arrest in early March.
Spears posted a video to Instagram on Friday showing her and her son, Jayden Federline, dancing together as she filmed in a mirror. In the caption, she thanked fans for their support.
“Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing,” she wrote. “Stay kind !!!”
Her team, however, is still trying to get her into a treatment program to ensure she maintains her sobriety ahead of her May 4 court date. Spears was arrested near her Southern California home on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and was later released.

“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” Spears’ rep told Billboard. “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
Spears was reportedly resistant to entering a 30‑day program to show the judge she was taking the DUI seriously and taking steps to turn her life around, according to a friend. The friend added that Spears pushed back because of her past conservatorship experience.
Another close friend said that after her initial resistance, she is now willing to seek treatment, calling it an “opportunity for her to get her life back.”
