Kristen Bell wouldn’t be against freezing time.
After all, the Frozen star—mom to kids Lincoln, 13, and Delta, 11, with husband Dax Shepard—shared a glimpse inside her close-knit family’s bond in a sweet tribute for her oldest daughter’s birthday.
“13 years ago today we had our first baby girl,” Kristen captioned a March 27 Instagram post alongside a reel of her family’s most adorable moments. “Getting to know her wit, compassion, and sense of adventure has brought us a kind of joy we didn’t have a word for before we met her.”
“She reminds us every day that family is literally the best of it- the real stuff,” she added. “(And also to never under estimate how good it feels to hold someone’s hand).”
The Nobody Wants This star also shared a glimpse into the relatable woes of parenting.
“Parenting is, for me, both the hardest and best thing I’ve ever done,” she said. “Thank you to all the role models we have had for our girls (I’m looking at you Mrs Browne!!!) and to the village who taught us how to be parents.”

“Getting to love this kid is the greatest job on earth,” she added. “Happy 13th birthday baby girl.”

While one clip featured Lincoln and Delta dancing in party hats before excitedly greeting their dad with a hug, another photo featured one of their daughters singing in-studio alongside their mom, who undoubtedly was showing off some of her Disney vocals.
Though the couple is notoriously private about their family, Dax, 51, recently shared insight into how their kids feel about the famous pair’s work projects. In fact, he revealed that their daughters “were very upset” to learn that Kristen and Dax’s characters broke up in the 2012 movie Hit & Run.
But “what made me so happy is they were mad at Mom, not me,” the Idiocracy star said on the Nov. 25 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! while sitting beside Kristen. “They thought Mom was a b—h. They thought Daddy was a good boy with a bad past, and she should be able to overlook that, and I agree.”

Despite disagreeing with their mom’s onscreen decision-making—though luckily her and Dax’s character do reconcile—ultimately, Lincoln and Delta enjoyed the movie.
“We spent all this time making this independent film and Daddy wrote it and directed it and they were like, ‘We want to see it,’” Dax explained. “And we hadn’t watched it in forever. We’re like, ‘OK, let’s watch it with you.’ They loved it. It’s very inappropriate. And it was a great litmus test for our children.”
