Mangaluru: St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) organised an essential health check-up camp titled “AL-Wellness” on March 25, 2026, at Joseph Willy Hall, Maffei Block. The initiative was conducted by Al-Empower (MSW HR Forum) of the MSW Department in association with the HR Department of the university, in collaboration with Anantha Arogyam.

The camp aimed to promote preventive healthcare and encourage staff and students to prioritise their well-being through regular health check-ups and awareness.

Chief guest highlights importance of wellness initiatives

Mr. Shijomon Yesudhas, Co-Founder of Global Degrees, Mangaluru and Manipal, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. In his address, he appreciated the HR Forum for organising a meaningful initiative that directly benefits both staff and students.

He emphasised the importance of such wellness programmes in educational institutions, noting that health awareness plays a crucial role in maintaining productivity and overall quality of life.

Focus on personal responsibility towards health

The programme was presided over by Dr. Sajimon P. P, Associate Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities. In his message, he stressed that being aware of one’s health is one of the most important responsibilities individuals must undertake.

He encouraged participants to make regular health monitoring a part of their routine and highlighted the role of institutions in facilitating such initiatives.

Free medical services benefit participants

The medical camp witnessed active participation, with a total of 135 individuals benefiting from the services provided. Mediquest Healthcare conducted free blood investigations for participants, enabling early detection of potential health issues.

In addition to diagnostic services, general health check-ups were carried out by medical professionals. Necessary medicines were also distributed to beneficiaries, ensuring immediate support for those in need.

The initiative provided a comprehensive healthcare experience, combining screening, consultation, and treatment under one platform.

Awareness on organic health products

As part of the programme, organic products from Anantha Arogyam were displayed. Representatives explained the health benefits of these products, creating awareness about natural and sustainable approaches to maintaining well-being.

Participants were informed about the role of organic and chemical-free products in promoting long-term health and preventing lifestyle-related ailments.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Abhishek T. R and team from Anantha Arogyam, along with Mr. Raghavendra Gangully from Mediquest Healthcare.

Dr. Vidya Vinutha Dsouza, Forum Coordinator and Assistant Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities, welcomed the gathering and also compered the programme.

The event was attended by Ms. Sahasra Rao, Chairperson of the HR Department; Dr. Dinesh Naik, Co-Chair of the HR Department; and Mr. Alister Shaun Dsouza, President of the HR Forum, along with faculty members and students.
