The neighbour who was involved in brawl with US actor Alan Ritchson has given his side of the story after video footage of the fight was released.

Alan, who is best known for his role as the retired Military Police Officer Jack Reacher in the hit Amazon Prime series Reacher, was filmed having a physical altercation with his neighbour in Tennessee recently.

The footage which was obtained by TMZ, shows Alan beating up his neighbour, named Ronnie Taylor, on the ground while two kids on motorbikes watch on.

Witnesses originally suggested that it was actually Taylor who started the fight, and he has now admitted to pushing the Hollywood hard man off his bike on two occasions after becoming frustrated with his alleged speeding.

In a conversation with TMZ, he said: “On Sunday, when I was cleaning by bike outside my house, he rode past once, twice, and on the second time I walked out in front of him, and I said, ‘You got to stop, someone’s going to get hurt.

“Then it escalated quite quickly from there. I did push him because he was coming towards me on his bike.

“‘I’ve had such a s**tty day today, I don’t wish the guy any malice or ill will but we just don’t need people riding through neighbourhoods like this and I decided I’d take a stand because someone had to.”

After he pushed the actor once more, Ritchson then ‘kicked the crap out of [him]’, leading to visible facial injuries.

However, he did not attend hospital and suggested that nobody has been arrested, although Ritchson did suggest to the Daily Mail that he could not comment because of an ongoing investigation.

He said: “I can’t answer questions about that right now, there’s an active investigation.”

The local Brentwood Police Department said: “There is an active investigation, and no arrests have been made. There will be a police report available when the investigation has concluded.”

Taylor also suggested in a separate interview with the Daily Mail that he wouldn’t even classify the altercation as a fight, and also refused to comment on claims that he had started things.

He added: “I did not know who he was or care. I only found out after the incident.”

Although he hasn’t publicly commented on the incident, the former Blue Mountain State star did share a cryptic post on his Instagram yesterday.

The text, reportedly attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte, read: “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”

Various social media users have also come out in support of Ritchson since the news first broke, with one typing: “Thanks for being you. Don’t stop.”

“Chin up. Trust what you did was with reason and don’t regret it. Haters will always have a reason to hate,” a second added.

“Nobody has a right to judge what they don’t know all the details of. Whatever it is, you’ve got this, and to every one hater there are 1000 supporters.”
