NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 20 – Kenya is seeking to grow its sports economy through a new partnership between Tennis Kenya and the French Tennis Federation (FFT).

The collaboration is designed to open up international opportunities for players, coaches, officials and clubs, while strengthening the country’s sports ecosystem through skills transfer and exposure.

The programme, set to roll out in 2026, will cover player development, infrastructure, officiating, coach training and leadership exchanges.

It is also expected to unlock economic benefits through sports diplomacy, sponsorships, foreign training partnerships and the potential to host international tournaments.

As part of the initiative, Kenya’s top Under-16 players, including Jeff Okuku and Aum Chandarana, will train and compete at Istres Tennis Club.

The partnership is backed by corporate sponsors, including 254 Racquet Club and PetStore Kenya.
