Taylor Frankie Paul has never been one to shy away from the drama, but the reality star’s most recent scandal is a lot more serious than MomTok gossip.

The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives star, 31, and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, who share a two-year-old son, are reportedly currently involved in a ‘domestic assault investigation’.

On Thursday, shocking video footage of an altercation between them, said to have been filmed in 2023, emerged, causing the execs behind Taylor’s new TV series to pull it from airing.

Taylor recently filmed The Bachelorette, a huge reality TV dating series in the US, with the show due to start airing on March 22. Now, though, it’s been parked for the foreseeable future.

ABC confirmed the move with a statement from Disney Entertainment Television that read: ‘In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.’

The Bachelorette sees a host of eligible bachelors attempt to win over Taylor’s heart, and it is not known when, or if, it will be shown.

It is also believed that filming for the fifth season of The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives has also been paused.

In the newly-released video, Taylor and Dakota are seen shouting at one another, and she shoves him before throwing barstools towards him.

At the end of the clip obtained and shared by TMZ, Taylor’s then five-year-old daughter can be heard crying out from the sofa.

TMZ reports that the video was used as evidence in an aggravated assault case against Taylor in 2023, which she pleaded guilty to and was placed on three years probation.

A day before the video footage was shared, Taylor spoke out about the domestic violence allegation, telling Good Morning America that things have been ‘so heavy’.

‘When your life is broadcast out there in these headlines, it’s like the end of the world, that’s what it feels like — I’m not going to lie. I will say I’ve been here before and I got through it, and I’ve shared my story and my light, and I’m hoping I can do that again,’ she explained.

‘Honestly, it’s been a heavy time to see the headlines, especially during this time of The Bachelorette being released, and it’s supposed to be a really exciting time.’

‘I’m a person that will always speak my truth, and that’s what I’m known for, and so when the time is right, I will be. But right now, [I’m] just trying to be in the present moment and focus on this,’ she said.

Dakota also broke his silence on the incident following Taylor’s comments. A rep for the reality star told Entertainment Weekly: ‘His number one priority here is protecting [their son], Ever.’

‘He knew there was a possibility it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that because he had always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor. It’s been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to coparent well.’

The rep also denied that Dakota is responsible. ‘He was just hoping that if he said nothing, as he usually does, it would go away. He’s never done any kind of sit-down interview about his side,’ the statement continued.

‘He kind of just lets it all happen to him, and I think he realizes with the severity of everything now that he just can’t do that.’
