Health Update: Health Update: Optimal Health opens in Watertown for wellness – What Experts Say– What Experts Say.
Dolly Parton reassures fans she isn’t slowing down after health issues
Dolly Parton needed some time to build back up “spiritually, emotionally and physically” following health issues and the death of husband Carl Dean.
Optimal Health, a husband-and-wife–owned wellness company devoted to helping people in the region thrive, held its grand opening in early March in Watertown.
Owners Lori and Maurie Steinley each bring over 30 years of knowledge and passion for health to the community.
Lori Steinley,, PA-C, PT, ND, is a physician assistant, naturopath and physical therapist. Maurie Steinley, PT, DSc, is a physical therapist as well.
Their practice focuses on functional medicine and innovative wellness therapies designed to support healing, recovery and overall well-being.
“Our goal was to create a place that looks beyond isolated symptoms and instead takes a comprehensive, whole‑person approach to health and wellness,” Maurie Steinley told the Watertown Public Opinion. “We saw a clear need in the Watertown area for a clinic that combines traditional healthcare experience with integrative and wellness‑based services. Many people are looking for natural, proactive ways to support their health, improve how they feel day to day, and address ongoing issues, rather than just managing symptoms.”
Maurie Steinley says patients appreciate the variety of services he and his wife offer under one roof and the personalized approach to care.
Lori Steinley provides a functional medicine approach focused on helping patients reach their health goals through natural methods, including appropriate lifestyle changes. She also offers ozone therapy, which can naturally support a wide range of concerns such as joint and tissue pain and chronic head congestion, among other symptoms.
Maurie Steinley says he offers several wellness services designed to support the body’s systems over time, including cold plunge therapy, salt therapy, and a pulsed electromagnetic frequency bed. He also provides physical therapy services, including dry needling, golf performance and rehabilitation and functional strengthening instruction.
The Steinleys say starting a clinic from the ground up has required balancing growth, education and awareness in the community. Introducing newer wellness therapies involves spending time educating people on how the services work and how they can support overall health. They note the positive feedback and results they have seen from patients “have made those challenges worthwhile.”
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our patients, families, and the local community who believed in our vision from the start,” Maurie Steinley explained. “Opening Optimal Health has been the fulfillment of a long‑held dream, and it’s rewarding to see people feel better, move better, and become more engaged in their own health journeys.”
