Safe Haven Sault Ste. Marie is holding a grand opening for the new multidisciplinary health and wellness clinic on Friday, March 20 at noon.
This milestone marks a significant step forward in improving access to mental health, neurodevelopmental, and family-focused services in the Algoma region.
Located at 550 Queen St. W., Safe Haven is Algoma’s first RN-led health clinic, offering a new model of client-centred, evidence-based care.
The clinic provides a wide range of services including preconception health, prenatal care, postpartum care, birth control, smoking cessation, immunizations, counselling, ASD assessment support and navigation, family support and advocacy, and wellness programming designed to promote resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Ashley Juby is also a board-certified lactation consultant, helping families navigate early feeding issues, and allowing parents to feel informed and empowered in their postpartum journey.
“Safe Haven is more than a clinic—it’s a commitment to accessible care to the community of Algoma. We’re proud to open our doors and support our community with the services they need,” said Juby, Registered Nurse and Owner of Safe Haven.
The Grand Opening event is a casual come-and-go celebration where community members are invited to tour the space, meet the team, and learn more about available services. This event also serves as an opportunity to highlight the growing need for wrap-around accessible health and wellness supports in our region.
The opening of Safe Haven also celebrates local health-care leadership. Clinical Director Juby was the first RN Prescriber in the Algoma District—an achievement that expands access to timely care for individuals and families across the region.
The Safe Haven team includes professionals from diverse backgrounds including social work, nursing, psychology, and allied health disciplines. Mackenzie Abbott leads mental health supports as Supervisor of Mental Health Services.
The clinic collaborates with local agencies across Algoma and has recently partnered with Thrive Psychology Health Team based in the GTA to provide timely assessments for neurodevelopmental concerns.
Join us for our Grand Opening event! Come tour the clinic and meet our team.
