With the war on Iran, yes the world has literally gone to dogs while we eagerly awaited clearance of the Artemis II mission, only to be disappointed twice in two months.

This is the second rollout of the SLS rocket from the Vehicle Assembly Building to the launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center on 19 March 2026. Earlier the lunar launcher was shipped back to the VAB following complications in two wet dress rehearsals.

NASA stated

Engineers are targeting 8 pm ET on Thursday, March 19, for the rollout of Artemis II. NASA’s crawler-transporter 2 will carry the 11-million-pound stack at about 1 mph along the four-mile route from the Vehicle Assembly Building at @NASAKennedy to the launch pad.

NASA’s Administrator Jared Isaacman stated on X/Twitter:

The next chapter of America’s journey to explore the solar system begins TONIGHT. Artemis II and the SLS rocket roll out of the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Complex 39B as we target a launch attempt as early as April 1. This mission will potentially send astronauts farther into space than any human has traveled before – around the Moon and safely back home.

Meanwhile, the four astronomers—NASA’s Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Jeremy Hansen, who will be on a 10-day lunar sojourn—are back in quarantine again.

You can watch Artemis II’s sloth-slow roll out to the launch pad from Vehicle Assembly Building on all of NASA’s social media platforms and the app. We will update a live link here as soon as the rollout is aired.
