Executive workshop in Lagos brings together CIOs and digital leaders to discuss enterprise cloud transformation.

Nutanix, together with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Datamellon, has hosted an executive technology workshop in Lagos focused on hybrid cloud adoption, AI and the evolving architecture of modern enterprise platforms.

Held at The Wheatbaker Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria, the event brought together senior technology leaders and decision-makers from sectors including financial services, telecommunications, government and enterprise technology to explore how organisations can modernise IT infrastructure while unlocking the value of data and AI.

The executive workshop focused on several key themes shaping enterprise technology strategies across Africa, including the role of hybrid cloud in supporting Digital Transformation, the growing importance of AI-driven decision-making and the need for modern infrastructure capable of supporting cloud-native applications.

Tunde Abagun, Sales Lead for West, East and Central Africa, Nutanix, said: “Africa’s enterprise technology landscape is entering a new phase where organisations are looking beyond simple cloud adoption and focusing on building resilient digital platforms that support innovation and scale. The programme featured keynote remarks from Tunde Mabawonku, Executive Director, Wema Bank, who shared insights into the bank’s innovation journey and the development of its digital banking platform ALAT by Wema Bank, highlighting the role technology plays in enabling new financial services and economic growth.

Throughout the event, technology specialists from Nutanix, AWS and Datamellon delivered presentations and live demonstrations covering enterprise hybrid cloud migration, modern application platforms and AI-driven business intelligence solutions.

Technical sessions also explored the architecture behind Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2), demonstrating how organisations can integrate private infrastructure with public cloud environments while maintaining operational consistency across hybrid environments.

The workshop concluded with networking discussions between enterprise leaders and technology partners, creating opportunities for deeper technical engagement and follow-up collaboration. Several follow-up meetings have already been scheduled with organisations including Wema Bank, NGX and IHS, reflecting growing interest in hybrid cloud strategies across the region.
