As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, posters have appeared in Madurai district proclaiming that the 2026 election will be a contest between the NDA and Tamil Nadu. The DMK has framed this election as a struggle between the NDA and the state of Tamil Nadu.

Earlier on Monday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, while addressing the DMK conference in Trichy, said, “The state will always be a no-entry zone for the BJP and the NDA. The fight is between the people of Tamil Nadu and the NDA.”

“For everything Tamil Nadu asks, for the NDA that says ‘no’ to everything, Tamil Nadu will also say ‘no’. Entry is always ‘no’ for you here. For your ‘Dappa Engine’, Tamil Nadu will always say ‘No Entry’,” Stalin said.

Stalin’s comments came ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the state on Wednesday. PM Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth about 5,650 crore rupees in Tiruchirappalli today.

BJP Hits Back

Responding to Stalin’s comments, the BJP hit back at the DMK with Union minister Piyush Goyal stating the DMK chief is making such remarks as he is in an uncomfortable position as his position is threatened by his own son.

“I am sure that MK Stalin is feeling uncomfortable because his own position is threatened by his son. I doubt MK Stalin will be made the Chief Minister by Udhayanidhi Stalin. His insecurities are reflected when he tries to lob the ball with such irresponsible comments,” Goyal said.

The Union minister said that MK Stalin has understood that his endgame in terms of being Tamil Nadu CM is coming closer. “Udhayanidhi Stalin is his biggest threat within the party. The people of Tamil Nadu will never accept an anti-Tamil person, somebody who cannot understand Tamil pride, somebody who is totally against Tamil culture. Udhayanidhi Stalin is not acceptable to the people of Tamil Nadu,” he added.

The war of words between the DMK and the BJP is continuously escalating as the state is heading closer towards the Assembly elections. This time, the NDA is hoping to make inroads in the state.
