Patna: Senior JD(U) leader and transport minister Shravan Kumar on Monday welcomed Nishant Kumar, son of CM Nitish Kumar, into the JD(U), saying the move has fulfilled the long-standing wishes of party workers and the hopes of many young people in the state.Shravan said JD(U) leaders and workers had been urging Nishant to join the party for a long time and described his entry as a moment of excitement for the organisation. According to him, Nishant’s decision has answered a persistent demand from within the party and has also met the expectations of Bihar’s youth, who were looking forward to his participation in public life.
“We are very excited by his joining. The aspiration of the state’s youth and the continuous demand of JD(U) leaders have now been fulfilled,” he said.Nishant’s move into active politics also drew a response from Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor, who reacted while speaking to reporters in Bhabua. Kishor said since JD(U) is the party led by Nishant’s father, his decision to begin his political journey there was natural, and he extended his good wishes.“JD(U) is the party of his father, and if he is beginning his political career, he has our best wishes. The decision to enter politics is his personal choice,” Kishor said.At the same time, Kishor criticised dynastic politics in Bihar, alleging that political leaders have secured positions of power for their own children while failing to create opportunities for ordinary families.
