Pune’s traffic congestion is set for a major relief as the newly constructed double-decker bridge, a brainchild of the late Ajit Pawar, has been officially inaugurated. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis marked the opening via video conference, highlighting the project’s expected positive impact on multiple city regions.
The structure, developed by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority, spans Ganeshkhind Road, integrating a road flyover and Metro line to offer a comprehensive traffic solution in Baner, Pashan, Shivajinagar, and Aundh. Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar praised her late husband for his pivotal role, recalling his bold decision to demolish the old bridge against criticism.
This inauguration, coinciding with International Women’s Day, symbolizes not only infrastructure advancement but also a tribute to Ajit Pawar’s legacy, whose dedication ensured minimal disruption during the project. The bridge signifies hope for reducing local traffic woes.
