NCP (SP) workers organized a protest in Thane, Maharashtra, over the recent hike in cooking gas LPG prices, calling for an immediate rollback. The demonstration occurred outside the collector’s office, where party leader Manoj Pradhan addressed the crowd.
Pradhan criticized the government for attributing the price hike to the Iran-Israel conflict, emphasizing the impact on household budgets. He accused authorities of poor planning and labeled the increase, especially around International Women’s Day, as unfair to women managing family finances.
The price increase, amounting to Rs 60 for a domestic LPG cylinder, marks the second such hike within a year. This affects both regular households and Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries, as well as commercial users like hotels, with prices for larger cylinders also rising significantly.
