The Middle East conflict poses risks
to the EU economy, Italian Banking Association (ABI) President
Antonio Patuelli said Friday.
“This is a very difficult time for Europe, with over four years
of Russian-Ukrainian war and the largest Middle Eastern conflict
in living memory,” Patuelli stated in his keynote address at the
inauguration of the academic year of the School of
Specialization in Public Administration Studies at the
University of Bologna.
“Risky, first and foremost for human lives, but also for the
European economy, due to the surge in energy costs (already
significant), the sharp declines in stock markets, and the risks
and increased costs of international trade,” he added.
