Reading Hospital’s Community Wellness Department, in partnership with Spring Valley Church, will host a free Community Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, March 7, offering Berks County residents access to basic health screenings, education, and resources.
The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Spring Valley Church of God, 2727 Old Pricetown Road, Temple. The church’s boutique will also be open during the event, and community members can shop for free clothes, baby supplies, and other household essentials.
Healthcare teams and community-based organizations will be in attendance to provide education and share resources with community members. Reading Hospital will offer on-site mammograms through the Mobile Mammography Coach and blood pressure screenings. Community Health Workers who lead the charge in facilitating community-clinical linkages will also be available.
“Community Health Workers play a vital role in helping our patients coordinate their healthcare and navigate social needs such as access to food, housing, transportation, and utilities,” said Desha Dickson, Vice President of Community Wellness at Tower Health. “Addressing these needs is critical to improving overall health and well-being.”
