Health Update: Health Update: Residents encouraged to visit mobile wellness van for support to quit smoking | Newsroom – What Experts Say– What Experts Say.
Smokers across Bath and North East Somerset are being encouraged to take the first step towards quitting by visiting a new drop-in mobile wellness van for advice, health checks and personalised quit support.
The B&NES Wellness Service, which is delivered by Everyone Health on behalf of the council, is taking the van on the road throughout next week (9 – 13 March) to mark National No Smoking Day on 11 March. The team will be offering stop smoking support, health coaching and heart health check‑ups, including blood pressure testing to residents free of charge.
Becky Reynolds, Director of Public Health and Prevention, said: “National No Smoking Day is a fantastic opportunity to take that important first step to quitting and the mobile van will make it easier than ever for residents to drop in and get help in a convenient local setting. Whether you need advice, encouragement, or practical tools to help you quit, our team is here to support you every step of the way.”
The van will be visiting the following locations between 10am and 4pm:
Monday 9 March: Sainsbury’s Car Park, High Street, Midsomer Norton, BA3 2DT
Tuesday 10 March: Tesco Car Park, 3 Bristol Road, Keynsham, BS31 2BA.
