Etihad Airways has issued an update
Etihad Airways has provided a new update for passengers as flight disruptions persist throughout the Middle East amid the joint Israeli and US military action against Iran. Thousands of services have been grounded in recent days, affecting hundreds of thousands of travellers.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday, March 3, Etihad Airways said: “Guests and members of the public are advised not to travel to the airport unless they have been contacted directly by Etihad and provided with confirmed ticket details. Access to the airport will be restricted for those without confirmed travel documentation.
“All others should check their flight status at and await further communication from the airline. Safety remains our highest priority. We appreciate your cooperation.”
The BBC reports the carrier had ceased all operations until 2pm on Wednesday (local time), though some ‘ad-hoc’ departures took place on Monday. Flight tracking service Flightradar24 shows an Etihad service bound for Heathrow did depart – touching down at 7.17pm yesterday.
Additional Etihad services have departed for various destinations including Moscow, Paris, Cairo, Delhi and Karachi. No aircraft are currently operating to or from Doha, as Qatari airspace remains shut, reports Glasgow Live.
