Trending Now: This entertainment story covers the latest buzz, reactions, and updates surrounding Trending Now: Alli Simpson Reveals Major I’m A Celebrity Filming Secrets – Fans React..
Is there anything Alli Simpson hasn’t done? From making history as a 15-year-old radio host in the US and releasing her own music to writing a children’s book and recently launching her own podcast, the 27-year-old has pretty much conquered every corner of the industry.
The younger sister of pop star-slash-swimmer Cody Simpson has also made her mark in the reality TV multiverse, appearing on both I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and The Masked Singer in 2021, and winning The Amazing Race Australia in 2023 alongside her mum Angie.
This week, Alli joined PEDESTRIAN.TV’s podcast Villain Edit to chat about her impressive career and reality TV experience, and nothing was off limits. From her mum’s stint on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH) and which of Cody’s exes was her favourite, to the one reality show she keeps turning down, consider the vault officially opened.
Alli’s I’m A Celebrity PTSD
Alli competed on the seventh season of I’m A Celebrity alongside TV heavyweights Grant Denyer, Colin Fassnidge and Abbie Chatfield, and admitted that she’s still haunted by the experience to this day.
“I went into the jungle terrified already of cockroaches and spiders — any insect. I swear to god, I was basically thrown in the deep end with all of them,” she recalled.
“Like, covered in cockroaches head to toe, spiders all over me, putting my hands in [boxes with] all my biggest fears. And now, I actually feel like I’m more scared. I feel like I’ve got PTSD, I’m even more jumpy than I was because I had them everywhere.”
It’s no coincidence that Alli was forced to confront her biggest fears on the reality show, as she revealed that contestants share this information with producers before filming.
“I spoke to Luke Bateman about this too, because I was like, ‘On the form, what did you say was your biggest fear?’. Because everyone was like [to me], ‘Write something that you’re not scared of’,” she said. “But I wrote cockroaches and spiders, and my first day that I walked in, they just poured buckets of them on me.”
Moral of the story: if a producer asks for your phobias, tell them you’re deathly afraid of five-star resorts and bottomless cocktails.
Alli’s reality TV manifestation
Although she’s been racking up reality TV credits in recent years, Alli confessed that she’s never been asked to appear on Dancing With The Stars and would love to do it.
“That would be a dream of mine, I love dancing,” she said. “Dancing With The Stars would be something I’d absolutely love to do. I’ll do either [Australia or US], 100 per cent. I just think that would be so fun.”
She wouldn’t be the first member of the Simpson fam to tackle the ballroom, either. Her brother Cody competed in the US series in 2014 with Witney Carson, who was also Robert Irwin’s dance partner on the recent season.
Alli also shared that she would be open to appearing on Australian Survivor or a hypothetical celebrity version of Married At First Sight (MAFS), although she’s not sure if she’s built for the drama.
“I don’t know if I’m dramatic enough for MAFS, but you never know,” she laughed. “I’m up for taking these experiences. I’m always saying yes to the other ones, so why not.”

The one show she keeps turning down
She might be open to doing more reality TV in the future, but Alli said she’s consistently turning down offers to appear on one particular show: Love Island Australia.
“I get asked every year, [and] I just can’t see myself walking around in a bikini and kissing guys on national television,” she explained. “I’m sure it would be fun and I’ve heard a lot of success stories, but I always thought like, what if I go over there and no one’s my type, and then I’m stuck with a guy that I don’t like?”
She did say, however, that she would love to star on The Bachelorette — so let’s bring back that show ASAP.
Ranking Cody’s iconic exes
It’s no secret Cody has dated a string of famous women, including Kylie Jenner in 2011, Gigi Hadid from 2013 to 2015, and Miley Cyrus from 2019 to 2020. But when it comes to Alli’s favourite sister-in-law, Gigi takes the crown.
“Cody’s lineup is crazy. It’s an insane drop, [and] they’re all amazing, honestly,” she said. “I probably would say Gigi [was my favourite], because they dated for the longest amount of time and she was definitely part of the family.”
She added that even though Cody and Miley broke up, she “absolutely” still listens to the pop star’s music, adding: “Her music is great. You can’t knock the fact that her songs are amazing. We can still listen.”
Her mum’s RHOBH appearance
Bravo fans might remember that Alli’s mum Angie appeared in a few episodes of RHOBH’s sixth season in 2015 as a ‘Friend’ of Yolanda Hadid. Alli joked that she and her mum “always forget” she was once a part of the iconic reality show, and revealed she almost landed a full-time role.
“She actually was supposed to end up being one of the Housewives and actually join the season, but she had visa issues because they couldn’t get the visa over the line for her to actually do it,” she detailed.
“So they just planted her in there with Yolanda, which was funny… They still keep in touch here and there. Like I said, we had so many years with [the Hadids], so they definitely feel like family.”
Alli went on to say that her mum almost ended up being cast in an Australian version of the Real Housewives franchise, but she’s “not really about that life” and would’ve quickly gotten sick of the cameras.
“I think she was [asked]. She did some auditions and things, but I think she just sort of said in the end, ‘This isn’t for me’,” she said.
