Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov addressed the 7th Georgia–Azerbaijan–Türkiye Business Forum held in Tsinandali village, Telavi Municipality, and spoke about the Khojaly genocide.

Emphasizing that Azerbaijan is commemorating the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, one of the greatest tragedies of the 20th century, the minister stated: “Six hundred and thirteen innocent people were killed, including 63 children. The fate of 125 individuals still remains unknown. Throughout all these years, brotherly Türkiye has always stood by Azerbaijan, firmly supporting the principle of territorial integrity. Brotherly Georgia has also done its utmost to help restore peace and security, consistently supporting Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.”

Mikayil Jabbarov expressed gratitude for this support.

“The South Caucasus region is currently experiencing a historic period—the process of building peace that began on August 8 last year in Washington with the signing of a Joint Declaration by President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and President Donald Trump,” he added.

The minister also emphasized that a partnership rooted in centuries of coexistence has developed among Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye, noting that this cooperation has contributed to strengthening stability and prosperity in the region.
